Terrascend & The Apothecarium Impactful Community Outreach Efforts in 2023



We are proud to look back on a year filled with meaningful community outreach initiatives. In 2023, we solidified numerous partnerships, contributed to important causes, and engaged with our local and national communities. Let’s recap some of the exceptional moments from our journey.


National and State Partnerships:
1. Supporting Veterans with Balanced Veterans Network: At the start of 2023, we donated 10% of proceeds from our Fallen Soldiers strain to Balanced Veterans Network. Their mission is to provide a safe space for education, advocacy, and empowerment of alternative therapies for veterans.
2. MISSION GREEN Initiative with The Weldon Project: We launched a donation campaign for The Weldon Project’s MISSION GREEN initiative. This initiative supports individuals who have been unjustly imprisoned for cannabis-related offenses, promoting justice and reform.
3. Empowering Communities of Color with Minority Cannabis Business Association: Terrascend became a proud member of the Minority Cannabis Business Association. Their mission is to empower communities of color through policy, programming, and outreach initiatives, aiming to achieve equity for those most impacted by the War on Drugs.
4. Reentry Assistance with The Kintock Group: We partnered with The Kintock Group to support their Vantage Point Program, providing reentry assistance to facilitate successful reintegration for formerly incarcerated individuals.
5. Removing Employment Barriers with New Jersey Reentry Corporation: In further support of reentry, we partnered with the New Jersey Reentry Corporation to aid their Training and Workforce Development program, helping remove barriers to employment for citizens returning from jail or prison.
6. Expungement Partnership with Hoffmans Center’s PC: We solidified an annual partnership with Hoffmans Center’s PC, offering free cannabis-related expungement services to the New Jersey community.

Local Community Outreach:
1. MEND Hunger Relief Network Support: We sponsored community events to raise funds for the MEND Hunger Relief Network, helping combat food insecurity in our local community.
2. SOMA Celebrates Women Sponsorship: We proudly sponsored SOMA Celebrates Women, which honored the heroic lives and achievements of women past, present, and future.
3. Supporting Festivals and Celebrations: Terrascend played an active role in supporting local festivals and celebrations, including Mayfest, National Night Out, PRIDE, Music Festivals, 5k runs and more.
4. Maplewood Division of Arts and Culture: We contributed to the Maplewood Division of Arts and Culture, fostering a cultural community that is inclusive and accessible to all.

Education:
1. Cannabis Education Seminars and Health Fairs: Within the communities we serve, our team organized multiple cannabis education tours, seminars and Health Fairs to educate the public about cannabis and its medical benefits.
2. Collaboration with the Local Police Department: We collaborated with our local Police Departments to educate the public on the laws and regulations related to cannabis.
3. Patient Care with the Medical Cannabis Program: Terrascend provided training and assistance to numerous individuals, enabling them to access patient care through the Medical Cannabis Program.

Cannabis Community Engagement:
1. Discovery Series with Local Businesses: We partnered with local businesses to create a Discovery Series, offering a safe and friendly environment for our cannabis community to explore creativity, wellness, and education. This series included events like Puff and Paint, Light and Wick, and guided creative art events.
2. Celebrating New Jersey’s Recreational Market: We celebrated the 1-year anniversary of New Jersey’s recreational market by hosting a consumption party, bringing together industry partners, patients, and customers. This event highlighted our commitment to building a community of like-minded individuals, providing full access to cannabis, and celebrating the New Jersey recreational market expansion.
3. Awarded Best Recreational Dispensary of the Year: The Apothecarium Maplewood is thrilled to announce that we have been honored with the prestigious title of “2023 Recreational Dispensary of the Year” at the NJ Cannabis Insider Awards Gala. This remarkable achievement is a testament to the meticulous quality of our stores, our well-informed Wellness Staff, our premium product selection, and our dedication to exceptional customer service.
