Are you considering getting a medical marijuana card?

To begin the application process, you will need to register for the Medical Marijuana Program and set up a profile in the Patient and Caregiver Registry. Click here to head over to the state website to begin the process of becoming a part of the Pennsylvania Medical Marijuana Program. You must be a resident of Pennsylvania with proof of residency from a valid PA driver’s license or state-issued ID with your current address. If you meet these requirements, you can register for the program. After you register, complete an in-person examination with a registered physician in the Medical Marijuana Program to confirm that you suffer from one of the 23 qualified medical conditions. Once approved by a registered physician, you will receive a certificate from your physician. The final step is to pay a $50 processing fee for the medical marijuana ID card. After receiving your ID card, you can use it to purchase medical marijuana from an approved Department of Health medical marijuana dispensary in Pennsylvania like our Lancaster dispensary, Thorndale dispensary and Plymouth Meeting dispensary.

MEDICAL MARIJUANA CARD APPLICATION PROCESS

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be a legal resident of Pennsylvania and provide proof of residency.
  • Must provide a certificate from an approved practitioner after an in-person examination.
  • Must be diagnosed with one of the 23 qualifying conditions.
  • Go to the Patient and Caregiver Registry and fill out your information to create a patient profile.
  • Obtain a certificate from a registered physician that you suffer from one of the 23 qualifying medical conditions.
  • Return to the Patient and Caregiver Registry and pay a $50 fee to obtain a medical marijuana card.
  • Visit The Apothecarium PA with your new ID card!

QUALIFYING CONDITIONS

Does your condition qualify you for treatment through Pennsylvania’s Medical Marijuana Program? PA’s program provides patients with serious medical conditions access to medical marijuana in a safe and effective way. There are currently 23 qualifying conditions defined in Pennsylvania’s Medical Marijuana Act. If you have one of these conditions, head over to the Department of Health’s patient and caregiver registry, submit your information, and consult with your primary physician to obtain certification. Once your condition is verified, you will then pay a $50 fee for a Medical Marijuana ID card.

Medical marijuana can be an effective alternative in the treatment of certain severe conditions. Below is a list of the qualifying conditions in Pennsylvania that medical marijuana can be used to treat.

  2. Anxiety disorders
  3. Autism
  4. Cancer
  5. Crohn’s Disease
  6. Dyskinetic Disorders
  7. Damage to the nervous tissue of the spinal cord with objective neurological indication of intractable spasticity
  8. Epilepsy
  9. Glaucoma
  10. HIV / AIDS
  11. Huntington’s Disease
  12. Inflammatory Bowel Disease
  13. Intractable Seizures
  14. Multiple Sclerosis
  15. Neurodegenerative Disorders
  16. Neuropathies
  17. Opioid Use Disorder
  18. Parkinson’s Disease
  19. Post-traumatic Stress Disorder
  20. Severe chronic or intractable pain of neuropathic origin or severe chronic or intractable pain in which conventional therapeutic intervention and opiate therapy is contraindicated or ineffective
  21. Sickle Cell Anemia
  22. Terminal Illness
  23. Tourette syndrome
