22 Until None & Operation Mercury

A Major, yet preventable health problem in the US is suicide. Sadly, Veterans comprise nearly a quarter of suicide deaths in the US In 2020 alone, 6,146 Veteran suicides were reported and recorded- an alarming statistic when considering that suicide was listed as the 13th leading cause of death for all Veterans and the second leading cause among those aged 45 or younger.

The mission of the NON-PROFIT organization, ’22 Until None’, is dedicated to reducing veteran & active-duty suicide. Led by veteran volunteers, the group provides individuals with multiple means for alleviating their stressors which can lead to an extreme course of action. This encompasses emergency financial assistance, camaraderie, benefits advocacy, and resource referrals.

This June 24, 2023, marks the 3rd Annual Operation Mercury International 5K hosted by 22 Until None. Celebrating under the theme “A Walk to Remember”, this event seeks to honor all those veterans who have passed away due to military suicide. Rather than focus solely on mere statistics, Operation Mercury wishes to bring attention to the names, faces, and stories of these departed heroes. They hope that the world will never forget their impact; that a warrior’s memory will live forever as long as their name is spoken, and their legacy kept alive.

Later this month, 22 Until None is hosting Operation Mercury to help raise awareness and prevent veteran suicide. To show your support, join us on June 24th at 1 Parkside Ave in Downingtown, PA 19335 for a walk beginning at 10:30 am. The rallying will begin promptly at 10:00 am so please arrive on time! With your help we can spread our message around Downingtown and beyond to reduce suicides amongst veterans.
