SAN FRANCISCO, October 15, 2018 -- The Apothecarium , a family-owned cannabis dispensary, has
reopened its SOMA dispensary at 527 Howard Street (at 1st Street) in San Francisco’s Financial District.
The completely redesigned space was created by the same design team as The Apothecarium’s flagship
Castro dispensary -- named the best-designed dispensary in the country by Architectural Digest . The
dispensary is celebrating this milestone with discounts on four popular women-owned cannabis brands:
Kikoko, Kind Medicine, Mellows and Whoopi & Maya.
“We aimed to build a dispensary where you can be proud to bring your mom,” said Ryan Hudson,
co-founder and CEO of The Apothecarium. “Our goal is to put first-time visitors at ease with a beautiful
atmosphere and friendly, knowledgeable staff. We’re excited to offer four days of discounts on four
popular women-owned brands -- that’s one way we want to support women in the cannabis industry.”
To celebrate the new dispensary, The Apothecarium SOMA will offer the following discounts on
20% off Kind Meds - Tues Oct 16th
20% off Kikoko - Weds Oct 17th
20% off Mellows - Thurs Oct 18th
20% off Whoopi & Maya - Fri Oct 19th
Discounts are good for in-person orders at The Apothecarium SOMA only and may not be combined
with other offers. Simply ask for the discount at checkout.
The Apothecarium SOMA features a mix of traditional and contemporary design – combining many of
the visual elements of the flagship Castro dispensary with new details unique to the SOMA location. The
dispensary is approximately 1,900 square feet. It first opened in 2011 as Igzactly420 and was acquired by
The Apothecarium in September of 2017. The dispensary closed for renovations in June of this year.
“At The Apothecarium, we pride ourselves on being the dispensary where doctors feel comfortable
sending their patients with serious medical conditions,” said Hudson. “Whether you are dealing with a
chronic condition or just looking to relax – our cannabis consultants are trained to help you select the
right product and dosage for your needs.”
The Apothecarium SOMA is open Monday-Friday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and weekends from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
(415-741-0741 apothecarium.com). The Apothecarium SOMA will accept cash and debit cards. The new
dispensary is located a short walk from the Montgomery BART Station.
The store was designed by Urban Chalet, the same interior design firm that designed The
Apothecarium’s Marina and Castro dispensaries. Vincent Gonzaga served as architect.
In addition to providing cannabis, The Apothecarium runs significant community engagement programs,
