Mid-Autumn Festival has always been a time for celebrating with loved ones and family, but it’s even more special this year as we get to share it with you through an amazing collaboration between Sundae School and CANN! This unusually delicious gummy and beverage pairing celebrates the Mid-Autumn Festival and every $2 from each purchase will be donated to “Our Dream” a socially inclusive digital cannabis space that centers minorities and provides knowledge-sharing and mentorship to equity-qualified applicants.
What is the Mid-Autumn Festival?
The Chinese holiday falls on September 21st this year. The Mid-Autumn Festival celebrates family ties and the harvest. On this day, friends and family appreciate the Moon in the evening on the 15th day of the eighth month of the Chinese calendar, when the moon is at its fullest. There is also a beautiful myth attached to this holiday based on the legend of Chang’e, the moon goddess in Chinese mythology, and her flight to the Moon. They’ll often have a moonlight picnic outside- eating things like stuffed buns, mooncakes, and fruit. There’s also a tradition of drinking Osmanthus wine or cassia wine for health, wealth and longevity. But if you want to eschew tradition and create a new tradition of your own with these tasty citrusy creations from Sundae School and CANN, we won’t hold it against you- they are exquisite and oh so very soothing!
