Most days, I work in the inventory room making sure that our products are stocked, but on busier days, I help out on the floor. One day, I met a woman who has been struggling with sleep. She has MS (Multiple Sclerosis) -- she’s almost always in pain, but it’s much worse in the mornings.
CBD (cannabidiol) is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid found in cannabis used to treat a multitude of conditions such as epilepsy, nausea, pain, anxiety, depression, neurodegenerative disorders, opioid withdrawal and PTSD. CBD has also demonstrated a potentially pivotal role in battling adverse side effects of chemotherapy and has shown promise in inhibiting growth in certain types of tumors.
November is National Epilepsy Awareness month. This year the Epilepsy Foundation is focusing on raising awareness of SUDEP, or sudden unexpected death in epilepsy. It’s estimated that 1 in 150 people who suffer from uncontrolled seizures pass away from SUDEP. There are steps that can be taken to help reduce the risk of harm, and the Epilepsy Foundation provides recommendations on just how to do so.
